Meet Dr. Philip J. Hamel

Dr. Philip Hamel isn’t your typical dentist — and that’s exactly what makes him exceptional.

Before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University, Dr. Hamel built a career in the automotive industry after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology. That hands-on foundation gave him a precision and problem-solving mindset that he brings to every patient interaction today.

Driven by a desire to help others in a more direct and meaningful way, Dr. Hamel committed to seven additional years of rigorous academic training. He graduated Cum Laude from Benedictine University with a Bachelor of Health Science before completing his dental degree — a testament to his dedication and intellectual curiosity.

A Commitment to Continuing Education

Dr. Hamel believes that great dental care never stops evolving. He stays at the forefront of the field through active membership and participation in some of dentistry’s most respected organizations, including the Seattle Study Club, the American Equilibration Society, Spear Dental Education, the American Dental Association, and the Chicago Dental Society.

He is also actively pursuing accreditation through the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) — one of the most prestigious recognition’s in aesthetic dentistry — reflecting his commitment to creating smiles that are both beautiful and functionally harmonious.

Beyond the Practice

Dr. Hamel and his wife Josephine, a real estate attorney, are proud parents to three energetic boys, including twins. When he’s not caring for patients or sharpening his skills, Dr. Hamel enjoys quality time with his family and taking on new hobbies that keep him as curious and driven as ever.
