Asia

Dental Hygienist

Asia became a dental assistant as a teenager and loved it so much that she studied Pre-Dental and Dental Hygiene Prerequisite courses at Moraine Valley Community College and graduated in 2010. She completed the Dental Hygiene Accelerated Program and graduated with Associates in Applied Sciences from Rock Valley College. Asia became a Registered Dental Hygienist and Healthcare CPR/BLS Certified in 2013. She has worked as a dental hygienist ever since. Asia stays well informed of the advances in the dental field with continuing education. In 2019, she joined Hamel Dental where she works together as a team providing ultimate treatment to patients that feel like family.

Asia enjoys getting to know her patients, and using humor to put them at ease. She loves working with people who have not been to a dental office for a long period of time, due to fear, and changing their perspective. Her favorite part of being a dental hygienist is working with young children so they enjoy coming to the office. She is also gratified by providing care to adults and geriatric patients enabling them to maintain good oral health and a smile in which they can feel confident.

When Asia is not in the office, she enjoys outdoor activities such as snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, swimming and loves taking long walks with her husband and baby boy. She likes to travel, especially visiting Poland, to see her family. Asia also enjoys cooking and baking.

Paulina

Dental Hygienist

Paulina began her journey in dentistry in 2014. While working as an assistant, she was inspired to pursue an education in dental hygiene. She graduated dental hygiene school with high honors and was recognized by her professors as portraying exceptional qualities of professionalism in the program. Her 6 years of dental experience gives her a great understanding of patients’ needs and how to provide them the best care possible.

At Hamel Dental, Paulina provides quality care and educates patients about their oral health. She believes one of the best things she can do for her patients is to help them understand why their oral health is important for their overall health. Her goal is for her patients to leave the office feeling motivated to take good care of their teeth and gums.

Outside of work, Paulina likes to spend time with her dogs by taking them on daily walks to the forest preserve trails. Paulina and her boyfriend enjoy going on dates as often as possible, especially for dinner and wine. Some of her favorite things include spending the day at the beach, summer activities, and Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Nena

Clinical Assistant

Nena has always thought of a career geared toward the service of others.
Originally trained as a fight attendant, she began her work in dentistry in 1991. After positions at a couple of different offices, she started working with Dr. Carol Everett in 1994. Nena worked with Dr. Everett handling both front desk duties and chairside assisting. With Dr. Everett’s retirement, we have been lucky enough to have Nena join our office as a full-time chairside assistant.

Nena is always thinking about the needs of others and making her an outstanding addition to the team at Hamel dental. As a widow with four boys aged 28 to 11, she knows hard work and patience. Her extensive experience in the dental profession makes her the perfect advocate for patients. She always tries to understand their needs.

Outside of the office Nena is a physical fitness enthusiast and has run in several Chicago Marathons.
